Xplanet 1.2.0 You should have the following files in this folder: ChangeLog.txt History of changes to xplanet. config.txt Describes the format of the configuration file. copying.txt The GNU General Public License. cygwin1.dll This is version 1.5.17 of the cygwin library which emulates UNIX calls on Microsoft Windows. readme.txt Describes the different command line options to xplanet. readme-1st.txt Describes the changes from the old version of xplanet. sh.exe This is cygwin's /bin/sh, which is required for the -prev_command and -post_command options. windows.txt This file. xplanet.bat Some sample commands you can run. xplanet.exe The xplanet program. xplanet This folder contains all of the auxillary files used by xplanet. Map files of the earth are included. If you want maps of other planets or clouds, look at the links on http://xplanet.sourceforge.net. To find image maps, Xplanet will first look in the current directory, then in subdirectories of any location specified by -searchdir, then in a subdirectory "xplanet\images" of the current directory, then finally in C:\WINDOWS\Desktop\xplanet-$version\xplanet\images. The default name is body.jpg (e.g. earth.jpg, neptune.jpg). The files cygwin1.dll and sh.exe are part of the Cygwin environment for windows (http://www.cygwin.com). Source code for these files can be found there or on the xplanet web site. Enjoy, Hari Nair hari@alumni.caltech.edu
